UPDATED MOTD

The stranded server needs an updated mots, because players on there don't know the most recent rules or the more uncommon ones. Every time I am on I have to go thru all of them and try to help out. When I go thru them or say "you can't do that, it's a rule" the player sometimes goes to the motd and bitches that it's not in there.

So, I think it should be updated with these rules:

No prop kill
No prop push
No prop spam
No weapon spam
No mic or chat spam
No floating objects
5 second count down is required before killing on property
No RDM/revenge RDM
No stealing from a player under level 30
No impersonation of taco staff


And there may be others, that's off the top of my head. Anyone who knows more rules, add them down below.

i also think the automated messages should be updated to include:
"Read MOTD for rules"
"Make saltpetre to raise weapon crafting"

this way every one has clear warning of what the rules are so that the responsibility of knowing the rules is left to the players. staff would no longer have to inform a player of a rule once the player has broken it, they could just take action.

ex. counting down from 5: someone doesnt count down and just kills, rdm. staff has to tell him that he has to count down before killing because theres no way for him to have known (unless joining the forums first)

if "5 second count down is required before killing on property" and "No RDM/revenge RDM" are on motd, along with something automated telling him to read the motd, he would already know to have counted down. that rdm would never happen

if he didnt read the motd, since the motd is open on joining the server and automessages telling them to read the motd, then its the players fault and staff can take immediate action, such as kick or ban.

Make sure you tell people how to raise weapon crafting without spamming weapons. Most people don't know that.

Also, I've noticed floating lamps are allowed.
Can't think of anything else right now.

The messages just get ignored 99% of the time though, that's why I didn't say it. Maybe something more in the way like a banner

If they get ignored, Koleon, It's their own fault, If they break a rule and say like "oh i didnt know", because they didnt know the MOTD, It's their own fault and Admins/ops/mods can ban them.

^ yup, just the information on alot of these rules needs to be available (which it isnt atm)
